NPC’s Buhi-Barit Watershed Area Team (BBWAT) participated in a collaborative tree planting activity alongside various organizations on September 21, 2024 at Barangay Burocbusoc, Buhi, Camarines Sur.

With the theme “A Greener Environment for a Brighter Future”, the 2024 Barangay Fiesta Celebration Tree Planting Activity highlights the vital role of environmental stewardship in fostering a sustainable community. The theme encapsulates the belief that by nurturing our environment today, we can ensure a healthier and more prosperous world for future generations.

Ms. Abigail SJ. Amandy, Barangay Captain, welcomed the participants through a message where she emphasized the importance of the collective effort needed to make a significant impact on the forest environment, and expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their dedication and hard work. This initiative aims to inspire residents to engage actively in ecological preservation and promote awareness about environmental issues.

The Buhi-Barit Watershed Area Reservation supports a hydroelectric plant with a rated capacity of 1.8 MW, where the main source of water is Lake Buhi through the Barit River.
