NPC-WMD through its Angat Watershed Area Team together with the Bantay Watershed Task Force (BWTF), LGU of Barangay San Lorenzo and National Power Corporation High School conducted a Joint Clean-up Drive and Tree Planting activity in Hilltop Barangay San Lorenzo, Norzagaray, Bulacan in July 27, 2017.  

The planting activity was conducted in compliance with Circular Order No. 2016-018 or the Goodness for Mother Earth (G4Me) Program wherein it encourages NPC personnel to plant at least eighty (80) trees to neutralize their carbon emissions and also in order to rehabilitate/re-vegetate the NPC-managed watersheds. A total of 1,360 seedlings were planted. About 1 hectare of kaingin site in Tailrace, Sitio Bitbit, Barangay San Lorenzo, Norzagaray Bulacan were planted of Dipterocap species such as Guijo (Shorea guiso), Kalumpit (Terminalia microcarpa), Dao (Dracontomelon dao), Rain Tree (Samanea saman) and Balobo (Diplodiscus paniculatus).

Afterwards, a regular meeting with BWTF volunteers followed. The meeting aims to assess/evaluate the BWTF programs and action plan for the management and protection of Angat Watershed Reservation Area.

As part of their regular program, the Biodiversity Management Bureau-Wildlife Rescue Center (BMB-WRC) in coordination with the National Power Corporation conducted a Wildlife Release Activity in Angat Watershed Reservation Area on April 27, 2017.The activity was participated by DENR Region 3, CENRO Tabang staff, the Dumagat tribe and the Angat Watershed Area Team (AWAT).

The Chief of Wildlife Conservation Division, BMB Regional Director Francisco Milla gave the opening remarks, while Watershed Management Department Manager Mr.Emmanuel A. Umali gave the Message of Support.

After the short programme, the release of wild animals followed. The following wild animals that were released in Angat Watershed Reservation Area, Manalo Hill are: Twelve (12) Brahminy kites (Haliastur Indus), three (3) Island-collared doves (Streptopellabitoquata), and five (5) Monitor lizard (Varanusmarmoratus). The thirty (30) Asian box turtles (Cuoraamboinensis) were released at Iligan tributary, AngatWatershed.

A total of sixty (60) attendees witnessed the event including thirty (30) Dumagats headed by the Dumagat-Bulacan Governor Salvador Cruz. Several Media agencies were also present to document the activity like ABS-CBN News, Inquirer TV, Philippine Star and UNTV.

Prior to the wildlife release activity, an Information Education Campaign (IEC) and ocular inspection of the site where the wildlife species will be released were conducted by BMB in coordination with AWAT. The IEC campaign was conducted on April 25, 2017 at Dumagat Livelihood Center, Sitio Dike, Barangay San Lorenzo, Norzagaray, Bulacan. A total of 74 locals and Dumagats Angat Reservation Area attended the IEC campaign.

It was the third time that BMB conducted the wildlife release at Angat Watershed Reservation Area.

NPC-WMD Manager Emmanuel A. Umali expressed support in the wildlife release including the protection of the wildlife within Angat Watershed Reservation Area.

Dumagat Bulacan Vice Governor Norma Roque when interviewed on the importance of the wildlife stated that ang buhay-ilangay mahalaga sa amin, katumbas ng aming buhay.
