Relative to the prevalent illegal activities which threaten the remaining forests within the Buhi-Barit Watershed Reservation, BBWAT requests the support and assistance from agency such as the DENR to curtail if not to eradicate illegal forest activities. The coordination meeting was an opportunity for BBWAT and CENRO-Iriga to establish possible collaborative efforts regarding the efficient management of Buhi-Barit Watershed Reservation.
One of the meeting agenda is the continuous quarrying activities within the reservation. At the end of the meeting BBWAT and CENRO-Iriga has established agreed actions to address the issue. BBWAT has also requested the validation of NGP projects of CENRO-Iriga which are within the restoration zone of the watershed reservation. The last concern is the regulatory services within the reservation specifically the issuance of lot certificates which are prerequisite for the titling of land and the issuance of tree cutting permit and transport permit on private tree plantations registered to DENR CENRO-Iriga which are within the watershed reservation. At the end of the meeting, all the concerns aforementioned were sufficiently addressed.
