The collaborative tree planting activity was conducted as part of BBWATs advocacy to encourage the proactive participation of stakeholders in the protection and rehabilitation of the Buhi-Barit Watershed Reservation. BAPOAA (Buhi Alpha Phi Omega Alumni Association) conducts tree planting as an annual activity. This year the activity coincides with the forthcoming celebration of Environmental Awareness and Clean Air Month. The tree planting was conducted in Brgy. Igbac particularly in the barangay's open area as climate change mitigating measures.
A short program marked the start of the tree planting activity with brief message from BAPOAA and BLGU-Igbac. After which, BBWAT Forest Guard Eleno Lavadia III talked about the importance of tree planting and gave an orientation on seedlings handling and planting. A total of 600 seedlings of indigenous trees and fruit bearing trees (Narra, Lamog, Tugawe, Cacao, Guyabano & Pomelo), sourced at BBWAT nursery, were planted at Brgy. Igbac.
