The volunteers from the Malaraya (Brgys. Atisan, San Pablo City, Aquino, Ayusan, Tiaong, Quezon, Palma, San Gregorio, Sta. Rosa, Alaminos, Laguna, Sta. Cruz, Sto. Tomas, Batangas, Lumbang, Talisay, Sto. Niño, Malitlit, Lipa City, Bautista, San Pablo City), Mts. Banahaw-San Cristobal Protected Landscape (Kinabuhayan, Dolores, Quezon), Mt.Makiling, Sto. Tomas, Batangas and the NPC-MBWAT personnel conducted Lenten Season Watershed Visitors Management Program 2018 last March 24, 2018 – April 1, 2018 at selected areas in Mt. Malaraya Forest Reserve (Laguna, Batangas, Quezon), Mt. Makiling (Batanags) and Mts. Banahaw-San Cristobal Protected Landscape(Dolores, Quezon).
Lenten Season Watershed Visitors Management Program is a continuing project designed specifically to provide services during the high visitation periods during the Lenten season. It aims to protect the watershed from fire and other destructive human activitiesduring the high visitation period. It gives special emphasis on the protection of the rehabilitation sites (reforestations, enrichment, cooperative planting sites, etc).
A total of twelve (12) barangays participated in the event. In general, the LSWVMP 2018 was successfully conducted with the help of our stakeholders and volunteers. Clean up was done in Mts. Banahaw-San Cristobal Protected Landscape (Dolores, Quezon) and Mt. Malepunyo in Sto. Tomas, Batangas where camping was allowed.
