To encourage them to plant and grow trees and vegetables as an alternative livelihood, PCWAT distributed seedlings to its Bantay Watershed Protection Council and People's Organizations such as the Tapil Bunga Farmers Association Inc., Calaocan Burgos Upland Farmers Association Inc., Salvacion Agri-Planters Association and Salazar Farmers Association on July 3, 2017.
The beneficiaries chose among a variety of seedlings like calamansi, rambutan, coconut and assorted vegetable seeds.
The said activity is part of PCWAT's livelihood program that aims to encourage people to engage in other means of living rather than doing activities that can harm the forest. The project was implemented in collaboration with Central Luzon State University Extension Office.
