NPC-WMD through its Pantabangan-Carranglan Watershed Area Team together with the Panatabangan-Carranglan Bantay Watershed Protection Council Inc. ? Salazar and Salazar Farmers Association conducted a monitoring of livelihood projects in July 5, 2017 in Sitio Manala, Salazar Carranglan, Nueva Ecijia.
The livelihood projects being monitored was under Plans 3-5 in contract with Central Luzon State University (CLSU) Extension Office. The said livelihood program includes the distribution of seedling materials in 2009 such as calamansi/citrus seedlings, coconut, mango, ube, and assorted vegetables seeds. The beneficiaries also attended a livelihood training conducted by CLSU.
The said activity was done to ensure that the distributed livelihood projects were properly planted and harvested (for annual planting materials) and that the communities residing near and within PCWFR were provided of alternative livelihood as a replacement for timber poaching and charcoal making activities.
