Foot Patrolling Within The Remaining Forest Cover of Pantabangan-Carranglan Watershed Forest Reserve
To closely monitor the remaining forest cover within PCWFR using LAWIN cyber tracker and to identify and deter any existing illegal activities. Pantabangan-Carranglan Watershed Area Team (PCWAT), People?s Organizations and Barangay Officials of Sectors 1, 2 and 3 conducted Foot Patrolling within the Remaining Forest Cover of Pantabangan-Carranglan Watershed Forest Reserve last October 16, 2017 at So. Binbin, Brgy, General Luna, Carranglan, Nueva Ecija.
Foot Patrolling and Monitoring of forest cover within Sector 3 (So. Binbin) of PCWFR was done and encountered no illegal activities. Identified trees on the area monitored were dominated by Benguet Pine with few Accacia trees. Existing forest is sparse to moderate, early secondary forest and with open, uncultivated area. Also, there were no detected indicator species or any signs of animal habitation within the monitored forest. Numerous wildlings of Benguet Pine were observed and documented.
