The total of forty three (43) participants came from the following offices/ associations: Pantabangan- Carranglan Bantay Watershed Protection Council Inc. (PCBWPCI)- Salvacion, PCBWPCI- Pamalyan, PCBWPCI- Conversion, Salvacion Agri Planters Association (SAPA), Philippine Army based in Brgy. Conversion, Pantabangan, PCWAT personnel conducted 3rd BWTF Barangay Meeting and Tree Planting Activity for CY 2018 last September 28, 2018 at So. Pamalyan, Brgy. Conversion, Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija.
National Power Corporation, through its Pantabangan-Carranglan Watershed Area Team (PCWAT), quarterly conducts Barangay Meetings in its covered barangays based on its Memorandum of Agrement (MOA) with National Irrigation Administration (NIA). These include barangays R.A. Padilla, Bunga, Burgos, and Salazar in the municipality of Carranglan and barangay of Conversion, in the municipality of Pantabangan, province of Nueva Ecija.
Regular agendas of the barangay meetings include the monitoring of the peoples organization's finances, loans for its members, attendance of its members, and proper implementation of its policies. The council conducts evaluation of its operations and activities for that quarter of the year and plan the activities for the next quarter.
Moreover, the council also conducts environmental activity every barangay meeting like tree planting activity or clean-up drive. These regular meetings and community organizing is an effort of the office to include the community and multiple stakeholders in the conservation and protection of Pantabangan- Carranglan Watershed Forest Reserve (PCWFR).
The participants all gathered in So. Guinisingan, Pantabangan, to join in the tree planting activity and participate in the 3rd Quarter Barangay Meeting.
The Tree Planting Activity was a replanting effort in NPC's 30 ha. Agroforestry plantation. A total of four hundred (400) assorted fruit-bearing seedlings from NPC-PCWAT were planted. The planted seedlings shall then be under the care of PCBWPCI- Pamalyan and PCWAT.
Before the meeting proper, CRO AMCapinpin and Forest Guard Mildred Lunas, taught them how to fold plastic packaging to decrease volume when throwing them into garbage can or turning into other eco-friendly recycling ideas. During the meeting proper, CRO AMCapinpin discussed the regular agendas of the meeting. Other matters were also brought up by the vice president of the council, Mr. Reynaldo Sequig, regarding fund raising activity during the General Assembly which is tentatively scheduled on December 11, 2018. The Charcoal Briquetting Training was also scheduled on October 23, 2018 as for the information of the participants who will also be the beneficiaries of the project. The meeting ended with a brief feedback/ closing message from each organization. A sumptuous lunch in Mr. Crispolo Casim's house, also a member of PCBWPCI.
