The Upper Agno River and Magat Watershed Area Teams, along with the personnel of the 2. 5 km Radius Technical Cooperation and the Tinongdan Indigenous Peoples Organization, have recently attended a two-day training on the Lawin System conducted by representatives from US-AID's B+WISER.
Lawin is part of the national strategy of the DENR and US Aid for forest and biodiversity protection in the Philippines. It allows regular monitoring, analysis and response mechanism to the threats to the natural forest.
The said coaching/training was conducted to strengthen the commitment and implementation of the attendees to the Lawin System within the Upper Agno River and Magat Watersheds. It also aims to further expand the knowledge and skills of patrollers and data managers on the use of Cyber Tracker and SMART software.
The activity included hands-on activities for the attendees to have actual experience and mastery on the use of Cyber Tracker and SMART software.
