Mongpong Island, Marinduque gets 24/7 power

Around 400 households of Mongpong island in Marinduque are now enjoying round the clock power as NPC launched on Friday, September 13 the 24/7 power supply in the island.

Leading the launch were Brgy Captain Victoria Relano, Councilor Jimmy Pastrana, Marinduque Electric Cooperative General Manager Mr. Gaudencio Sol, NPC SPUG Luzon’s Department Manager Mr. Larry Sabellina, and Division Manager for Marinduque-Quezon and North Luzon Mr. Danilo Barcarse.

Mr. Sabellina, in his message to the residents, expressed his hopes that the 24/7 power further improve the island’s livelihood activities. Mongpong’s major industries are fishing and tourism. It is where Marinduque’s famous Ungab rock formation is found.
