NPC President speaks before ME students and professionals in national convention
NPC President and CEO addresses Mechanical Engineering students and professionals in the recently held Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers National Convention at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. The convention carries the theme, 'PSME: Engaging the Mechancial Engineers and Upholding the Profession towards Global Excellence.'
President Pio talked about the strategic directions and opportunities for mechanical engineers in the energy sector. He highlighted the DOE’s strategic directions -- Ensure energy security, Expand energy access, Promote low carbon future.
He also invited them to try out NPC with regards to opportunities in power plant operations, repair and maintenance, power plant design, operations/project oversight, and planning and strategic studies, among others.
In the end, he reminded all participants to “always remember that true public service does not lie in where we are (private or public service), but in our contribution to the work of nation-building; and the dedication, integrity and honesty with which we carry out our part.”
