NPC celebrates 82nd year anniversary with Energy Secretary Cusi
The National Power Corporation (NPC) today celebrates its 82nd founding anniversary with Energy Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi as keynote speaker.
Sec. Cusi emphasized the importance of NPC’s role in the total electrification of the country as he himself grew up from the island province of Mindoro. He urged NPC to accelerate its work process to help the people in the islands experience progress through electricity.
“Let us redefine NPC to make things happen, we shall electrify the entire country to help less privileged areas,” Sec Cusi said.
NPC President and CEO Pio J. Benavidez also extended his warmest greetings to the employees and made a brief report on the collective wins of every functional group. He likewise rallied everyone to be on board as NPC strive to bring electricity to more areas.
Before ending his message, President Pio reiterated his guiding principles such as DISC – Discipline, Integrity, Service and Commitment.
“Success starts with discipline. To succeed, one should focus on obeying rules and code of behaviors. When you have discipline, you have self-control. We cannot control everything in life but we can definitely control ourselves,” he said.
He invited the employees to contemplate on integrity or doing the right thing in all circumstances, service to others, and commitment to the highest quality of work.
The anniversary celebration concluded with communal lunch for all employees.
