Two islands get 24/7 power
NPC granted round the clock power service to the island barangays of Cabra in Lubang Islands, Occidental Mindoro and Batan in Rapu-rapu, Albay.
Both islands have huge power reserve which allows the SPUG power plants to operate 24/7 and accommodate more household connections or an increase in electricity consumption among connected homes.
Cabra, known for one of the oldest lighthouses in the country, thrives in farming and fishing. Batan on the other hand, is popular for its white sands and beaches. These are two of the far-flung and off-grid communities being served by NPC through its Small Power Utilities Group.
Currently, NPC operates 277 SPUG in 183 municipalities across 35 provinces in the country.
