NPC gets recertified to conduct Pollution Control Officer training
The National Power Corporation has been certified once again as Pollution Control Officer Training Organization by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau.

With the certification, NPC through its Training and Development Division along with the in-house professionals at its Power Engineering Service – Environmental Management Department (PES-EMD) can now hold in-house training on basic courses for pollution control officers and their managing heads. The said training and the Certificate of Accreditation of PCOs are major requirements for power plants to obtain Permit to Operate.

Two (2) PCO training are scheduled this year as NPC SPUG builds and expands power facilities in far-flung islands/ communities which requires having pollution control officers. It will be conducted by PES-EMD personnel who themselves underwent thorough training from the DENR.
