In order to sustain the 24/7 power supply for over 21,000 households it serves in Dinagat Islands, NPC inaugurates brand new 1.5 MW generating sets in its Dinagat Diesel Power Plant on January 31, 2018.

The additional capacities can accommodate increased residential consumption and livelihood activities since the total available capacity now is at 5.73 MW which is sufficient in meeting the peak demand of 3.80 MW.

Leading the inauguration were NPC Vice President Atty. Rogel Teves and Dinagat Islands Governor Glenda Ecleo.

Located in northeast of Mindanao, Dinagat Islands used to be a part of Surigao del Norte until the enactment of Republic Act 9355 or the Charter of the Province of Dinagat Islands in 2006. Composing of seven municipalities, the island can be reached by boat from Surigao City.
