NPC energizes a fishing community in Taytay, Palawan

NPC on Saturday, March 30 energizes the island of Paly in Taytay, Palawan which has a population of 2,805. The residents thrive mainly in fishing.

The ceremonial switch-on was led by NPC’s Vice President for SPUG Atty. Rogel T. Teves, Taytay Mayor Romy Salvame and some residents of the island.

The project is part of the signed Memorandum of Agreement among NPC, Palawan Provincial Government and the Palawan Electric Cooperative that seals cooperation to electrify eight (8) new areas in Palawan.

With the agreement, electrification was expedited since the provincial government provided the powerhouse and PALECO assisted with the construction and installation of distribution facilities.

NPC - Palawan Operations Division’s Engr. Larry Sabellina said that the Paly Diesel Power Plant initially has 80 kW dependable capacity and 75 initial connected households with 536 more potential connections.
