NPC WMD concludes expository hearings for UCEC – Plan 15 in CDO
The fourth and final expository hearing and public consultation for Universal Charge – Environmental Charge Plan 15 was recently held in Cagayan de Oro City by the National Power Corporation – Watershed Management Department.
Plan 15 which amounts to 239 million aims to continuously support and sustain watershed rehabilitation, protection and resource development in NPC’s 11 watershed areas.
The expository hearing, held in Xavier University, was well-attended by major stakeholders in Mindanao watershed – Mayor Benjamin M. Bagul of Balindong Lanao del Sur, Councilor Rakilm Sangcaon representing Mayor of Mulondo Lanao del Sur, Sultan Abdulwahab Dimapinto from the Municipality of Madalum and Engr. Sania Macadadaya representing Mayor of Tamparan, Lanao del Sur.
The hearing was conducted and led by Atty. Mc Rhondolf Mabalot of the Energy Regulatory Commission. The NPC team on the other hand was led by WMD Manager Emmanuel A. Umali, WMD-MinGen Division Manager Kharis R. Maranda, Atty. Diwa Rafael Bontuyan and Atty. Maria Cristina Laig.
Plan 15’s Pre-Trial Hearings will commence on July.
Public hearings are held for NPC’s application of Universal Charge in order to seek the public’s comments and approval for the rates/components involved.
