NPC opens Tarnate Diesel Power Plant in Northern Samar
National Power Corporation switches-on its new power plant in Tarnate Island in San Vicente Northern Samar, bringing hope and electricity to about 100 households in the island.
With an initial supply of 50 kW, Tarnate DPP will give 8 hours of electricity daily and will continue to connect more households through the Northern Samar Electric Cooperative. The island has 350 more potential households.
The switch-on ceremony, led by Eastern Visayas Operations Division team headed by Engr. Eduardo P. Villegas, was graced with the presence of San Vicente Mayor Tito Luñeza, Vice Mayor Edgar Catarungan Jr, Cong. Paul R. Daza and other representatives of the local government and electric cooperatives in Leyte and Samar.
