MAKBAN WATERSHED AREA TEAM CONDUCTS FILM SHOWING ON ENVIRONMENT

To instill environmental awareness among the young generation, the NPC-Watershed Management Department’s Makiling-Banahaw Watershed Area Team has recently conducted film showing in public elementary schools near Mt. Malaraya Forest Reserve. Hundreds of participants composing of pupils, teachers, parents and barangay officials from Tiaong, Quezon (Aquino, Bucal, Ayusan) and San Pablo, Laguna (Atisan) have benefited the program.

“Film showing is one way of nurturing the pupils’ mind about the preservation of our environment. We hope to have more similar activities in the future,” said Ms. Mylene T. Rubio, teacher at Bucal Elementary School.

After the film showing, the MakBan team held a lecture on how the participants can directly contribute in saving the environment and an interactive quiz.
