NPC’s chess team wins third runner-up in the GCAA Chess Tournament

The NPC chess team finishes as third runner-up in the recently concluded chess tournament of the Government Corporations Athletic Association (GCAA).

NPC holds Fire Safety Seminar & Drill for SPUG-EMOD

NPC through the Training and Development Division has organized a three-day Fire Safety Seminar and Drill for employees and plant personnel of its SPUG Eastern Mindanao Operations Division in Mintal, Davao City.

The first two days included lectures and hands-on exercises where participants tried extinguishing LPG on fire and fire on water and gasoline drums. On the third day, an earthquake and fire drill was held to assess their learning from the lecture. Even the TransCo employees, the construction workers of the new office building and some local barangay officers joined the drill.

The drill was given a rating of very satisfactory from NPC’s CRT members Mr. Roger Dormido and Mr. Romeo Francisco.

Earthquake and fire drills are held in NPC offices to constantly remind the employees the proper actions to take during occurrence of such disasters.

NPC launches drug abuse awareness and prevention campaign

To raise awareness on the adverse effects of drug abuse and the salient features of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2001, NPC through the Administration and Finance Group has conducted a seminar on Drug Abuse Awareness and Prevention.

The seminar was conducted by Mr. Jose Patrick Madayag of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and attended by 140 personnel from NPC Head Office.

The program is in compliance with the Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation No. 2 series of 2004 and CSC Memo on the mandatory random drug test for public officials and employees.

A similar activity will also be held in NPC’s satellite offices.

NPC’s CRT leads another earthquake and fire drill

In its pursuit to always keep its employees alert and informed, NPC through its Contingency Response Team conducted an earthquake and fire drill on Friday, September 21, 2018.

The drill was observed and assessed by the Safety Organization of the Philippines for points of improvement. 

NPC’s CRT is headed by Mr. Roel Manansala of the General Services Department.

NPC conducts training on basic life support and first aid for select employees

NPC recently conducted a basic life support and first aid training for select employees at the NPC Training Center in Bagac, Bataan.

NPC’s Women Bowling Team bags championship at the GCAA tournament, presents plaques to NPC President & CEO

The NPC Women’s Bowling team was hailed as champions in the 2018 Government Corporations Athletic Association (GCAA) tournament. It’s a Back to back win for our team as they were also the champion last 2017 in the the same tournament.

NPC joins LISEA summer tournament, wins in opening games

In spirit of camaraderie, NPC joins the Liga ng Samahang East Avenue (LISEA) summer games which is participated by agencies such as the Bureau of Internal Revenue, PSALM Corporation, Office of the Ombudsman, Public Attorneys Office, National Irrigation Administration, National Telecommunications Commission, Social Security System, National Electrification Administration, National Grid Corporation of the Philippines and National Water Resources Board.

For the initial games, the NPC teams won the volleyball and basketball (Senior category) tournaments.

The games, which are held after office hours, are expected to last until end of July.

NPC strengthens risk management capability

NPC in cooperation with Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) and the Malayan Insurance Company conducted a Risk Management and Loss Prevention Seminar in two batches in Manila and the Visayas.

NPC conducts fire and earthquake drill, promotes fire safety

NPC on Friday holds a fire and earthquake drill as support and in promotion of the fire prevention month this March. The drill was observed and assessed by representatives from the Bureau of Fire Protection to ensure that the employees follow the prescribed practices during fire and earthquake.
